Hiroyo was seen on the OZ Academy blog working out in preparation for her big title match against Chikayo Nagashima. Hiroyo called the OZ Academy office and asked the secretariat to meet her for an impromptu interview. The secretariat arrived at the beach to find Hiroyo working out in the scorching sand. Hiroyo was said to scream “Nagashima” loudly without regarding for the other beach goers’ glances. Above, Hiroyo is seen doing Sit Up’s in the float tube.
Here Hiroyo is seen doing push up’s in the hot sand.
The interviewer observed that Hiroyo’s determination to win is not only exclusive to OZ Academy. She wants to conquer the “whole world of puroresu”. The goal is to increase the number of customers of joshi puroresu so that it would become popular again.
The article also discussed that fact that the last characters in both Chikayo (永島千佳世) and Hiroyo’s (松本浩代) kanji make up the word “Generation” (世代). The serendipitous nature of this word play, and the true nature of a generational change if the title changes hands, seems to be fate.
The article concludes that we don’t know what will happen, but generational change, definitely sounds interesting!

Hiroyo was also at the recent JWP show on 8/12, and her mentor Mariko Yoshida showed up too. Mariko Yoshida will also be on an upcoming JWP show. She said she is excited about Hiroyo’s big title match in the coming week, and that they haven’t taken a photo together in a long time. I hope Mariko Yoshida will be at the OZ show for Hiroyo’s title match!
